In a recent
conversation I had that seemed to be the topic without being said
while discussing some issues a friend was having.
Just what is the deal
with some people? What do they or shall I say are they thinking, or
do they even think?
It seems today that
this life is chocked full of so many people with their hand out it
is really pathetic and to the point of an unbelievably plague that
is slowly rotting away at society.
I can’t do this, I
have a problem with that, it hurts, it don’t hurt, I can’t take it
any more or some other ludicrous pathetic excuse of a lame ability
to deal with reality, or so it seems in my opinion.
What happened to men
will be men and women will be women, an honest days work for a
honest days pay and all of that happy shit?
When did the common
sense of mankind take a backseat to what I need is a pill?
Why has our society
allowed this to happen?
Yet we condemn those
who are inept but allow this behavior to continually happen?
Where did it all go so very wrong?
It takes me back to a time many years
ago when I was in search of a part for my broken lawn mower. I was
told that a man on the other side of town had a bunch of used parts
at a really good price, if you could catch him at home, so off I
went in search of the much needed component that would allow me to
once again be the caretaker of my little piece of earth. I found
where the man lived and much to my surprise he was in and had what I
was looking for and thought this is great! I followed the elder
gentlemen to his shed, which was literally covered with various
items from days of yore. He said yep here it is let me just get a
saw and cut the bolts off for you and you’ll be ready to go and I
thought this is great. As the man cut away at the obviously rusty
bolts about half way through he slipped and nearly cut the end of
his finger off. I shuttered as the blood squirted from his gouged
finger and to my surprise he stopped for a mere moment and said oh,
didn’t mean to do that, and kept on cutting like it was less than a
paper cut. He finished, gave me the part and said that’ll be $20
here you go, which I was more than happy to pay, and I was on my
way. I couldn’t believe what I had just seen but yet it didn’t seem
to even faze him but left a lasting impression on me.
That is the difference between then and
now. People were tough and that was just the way life was, you dealt
with it and went on about your business. You didn’t stop and scream
with anxiety, rush to the hospital for stitches or medication, just
wrap a rag around it and go on.
To quote another friend from the past,
we have gotten soft.
Today that seems to be the case.
Physically we are a bunch of whiners
that need a pill for this, a pill for that, something to make me
thin, something to make me fat. I can’t take any more someone
screams, but if you take this pill it will help you!
Get the picture?
We have become harder in only the way
that we look at and judge others. The way that we deal with things
and how we treat others or shall I say the way we address things
have become way to soft.
We’re afraid to hurt someone’s
feelings, or, I could never say that to them.
Remember a thing called tough love?
Remember a thing called the truth?
Today it is nearly considered a crime
for being honest because most people cannot handle it, and why might
you ask?
Because we have become so damn
politically correct it is sickening.
We’re afraid to loose a friend if we
say the wrong thing. What would the club membership think? They’ll
be talking about us won’t they? Their lawyers will sue us surely and
yada yada yada.
People as a whole do not or cannot
accept the truth and would rather be lied to so they feel better
about themselves, or we’re so afraid to loose a friendship we will
kiss ass just to keep the peace.
I say no more people, it has got to
stop and right now for the sake of all mankind.
One thing that I heard on the news
today was kind of the icing on the cake.
Several states are considering
legislation to lower the drinking age for those in the military to
18 years and the masses are screaming NO!
You mean to tell me that a young man
can suit up in his gear for the Red, White & Blue to go fight for
this country and your rights, so you can play bingo and drink with
the folks at the social club but you say no to a young man having a
beer who you have authorized to carry a machine gun into war…
And to think we wonder what is the
problem with our society?
BULLSHIT, GET A GRIP AMERICA!
Stop the insanity folks I mean really.
Soon you too will say WTF?
Be safe out
there...
